Welcome

Stay somewhere a little out of the ordinary with Yorkshire Country Holidays in our historic market town of Richmond in beautiful Swaledale, North Yorkshire.

Our Cottages

Two delightful, unique and historic cottages for a perfect holiday home. Situated in the old market town of Richmond in North Yorkshire, both cottages are within a few minutes walk of the Market Place with its interesting local shops, restaurants and pubs and a similarly short walk to the River Swale and woodland walks.

Old Cello Workshop and Garden Cottage are beautifully renovated and decorated old properties set between the edge of the old part of town and the lovely Swaledale countryside.

Old Cello Workshop

This is a charming, unique cottage that sleeps 6. It is just a lovely place to stay - we know, we have lived there! We converted this pretty cottage from a stringed-instrument workshop. In a former life it was a barn and we believe it dates back at least 400-years.

King-size, double and twin bedrooms provide accommodation for 6 people. Children are welcome, as are well-mannered dogs...

Garden Cottage

Garden Cottage faces south with views across the garden to Billy Banks Woods. The view east is of Richmond's Norman castle - the rising sun pierces the great, arched window.

This pretty, Victorian gardener's cottage was built in the former kitchen garden of Elizabethan Yorke House. The cottage looks over a secure, south-facing private garden with spectacular views of Richmond castle & Billy Banks Woods...

"Marcia, just a note to say that we all had a wonderful week at Garden Cottage, which was perfect for our needs and an ideal base for our explorations of Richmond, Swaledale and Wensleydale. Thank you for hosting us and I hope today's steam train trip went well."
